Activity and responsibility

At first glance, the profession of technical product designer sounds very modern - but in fact it has existed since 1937, when it was still called technical draughtsman. And there is good news for creative computer freaks, because since 1990 learning CAD programmes has also been part of the training. So you can turn your hobby into your profession. And instead of spending hours retouching a model with Photoshop, you work closely with engineers and other product designers and support their work. During your training, you will specialise in various programmes to create and modify 3D data sets and documentation for components and assemblies.

As a technical product designer, you will have the chance for the first time to implement your own ideas graphically in such a way that they are almost tangible and you can view them in a 3D format. What's more, your profession is particularly varied, because technical product designers have very different products that they have to design. - Technical product designers are responsible for a wide variety of areas. As a creative mind, you are in particularly good hands here. In addition to analysis, conception and prototype and series support, the tasks of a technical product designer also include brainstorming and presentation.
