Head of Supply Chain Management / Head of Work Planning, Purchasing & Materials Management (AEM)

To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a dedicated leader to serve as Head of Purchasing, Work Planning, and Materials Management (AEM) at our Ebhausen location, to start as soon as possible.
In this key position, you will shape and manage our entire value chain—from work planning and materials management to the on-time supply of our production. You will ensure that all processes work together seamlessly, thereby making a decisive contribution to the company’s success in specialty vehicle manufacturing.
Activity and responsibility
- Technical and organizational management and coordination of the Purchasing, Work Planning, and Materials Management departments
- Ensuring a cost-effective and timely supply of materials for production
- Planning, managing, and optimizing work planning
- Responsibility for procurement, supplier management, and inventory optimization
- Developing and tracking cost calculation metrics
- Leading internal continuous improvement (CIP) projects
- Monitoring and optimizing inventory levels and material flows
- Close coordination with production managers to ensure efficient manufacturing processes
- Working directly with senior management on organizational and strategic issues
- Analyzing and continuously optimizing processes along the value chain
- Leading, motivating, and developing employees in the areas under your responsibility
- Monitoring deadlines, costs, and quality standards
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Your Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field; or a completed technical or trade apprenticeship followed by advanced training to become a master craftsman, technician, or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of professional experience, ideally in specialty vehicle manufacturing or a comparable production environment
- Experience in purchasing, materials management, work planning, or supply chain management
- Understanding of production processes as well as material and goods flows
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing employees (player-coach type)
- A structured, solution-oriented, and cost-effective approach to work (hands-on mindset)
- Organizational skills, assertiveness, strong communication skills, and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP Business One) and standard MS Office applications
